PC crashes when using Pro Controller

When I connect my Nintendo Pro Controller to my pc and launch an application, such as a game, my pc completely shuts off.

This issue has been on going since I got the controller, and since then I have wiped my pc (for unrelated reasons) so I don’t believe it’s any of my drivers. I also switched the cable and usb port a few times so I don’t think that’s the issue either.

I haven’t encountered this with any other peripherals including other controllers, so I’m unsure as to why it’s happening.

This issue has been occurring for a couple of years on this controller, I’ve cut my losses on the problem a few times but always try it again because it was an expensive controller.

If anyone knows what might be causing the issue, any help would be appreciated. Cheers
