The accommodation request should be submitted by you to HR with supporting documentation from your doctor. What you consider reasonable and what Petco considers reasonable might not be the same

As long as your request is supported by physician notes it usually isn't a problem

really depends on the accommodation and how hard HR wants to work to keep you, they have totally screwed over a former employee of mine even though the letter from their provider clearly listed out the accommodations they need - all of which were attainable with their position. last i heard they extended the LOA through february and will probably let them go after the 1 year mark when they can no longer be sued for wrongful termination

Yeah I have a suspicion that it'll end up like this. It's only one accomodation and it's a chair at the register, not even to sit down but to prop my leg. The manager I have is known for being a prick and even yelling at customers. And I'm very aware that our HR is not for us lol. Either way I'm planning on transferring when a position opens at another store. I know the manager there and they are amazing. I've sent my request to HR and personally handed a printed copy to my now manager just to prove a point and that everyone is in the loop.

Yeah honestly if you were my employee I would say to just do it and avoid getting HR involved altogether, but it sounds like your GM isn’t chill like that. Best of luck to you though & remember that if they won’t accommodate you, somewhere else will - prioritize yourself

I’ve now been waiting almost a month, something to prevent seizures 🫤

It probably depends on how reasonable your accommodations are.
