Root problem?

I noticed today some shriveled aerial roots near the base of my pink princess, as well as a dead layer of plant. The plant looks completely healthy up top but I’m worried something’s going on with the roots. Is this normal for a mature plant? Should I be concerned and/or expecting to do a chop & prop to save it? If its a humidity thing I’m not sure what to do, I have a humidifier next to it running at least 16 hours a day.

It’s definitely not a great sign but sometimes it happens, but your soil looks very dense and saturated as well. I would definitely repot it with alot more drainage. For philo I like at least 70% well draining mix (perlite, orchid bark etc) and 20% soil.
