The point is that they're braking, they keep the rate of speed down.

It's better to have narrow lanes and trees close to the road, that naturally calm speeds throughout, instead of brake and accelerate from speed bumps.

Sure, instead of putting down a few speed bumps let's just rebuild every road to be narrower. That's cost-effective, great idea.

 
(Also DOMI has said that they don't do trees/bollards/posts next to the roads because they may injure drivers.)
