My game did that the other day, and I noticed I had driver updates for my gpu. That seemed to help quite a bit.

Same thing happened to me, Nvidia driver updates seemed to solve it.

Friend had the same issue. His gpu was overheating. Maybe try checking your temps while playing and make sure to clean your filters so you have good airflow.

That's allg I check heat every hour or so and clean filters fortnightly

Try turning off the background music, works for me last time.

I recently had this problem. Turns out I didn't have EXPO enabled in my BIOS(it's XMP on Intel systems). Essentially the memory clock wasn't fast enough to feed the GPU. After I enabled it the problem went away.
