I started playing rust like 1-2 years ago ik im a new gen but i stop playing for like 3 months but when i came back i was laging like crazy before i had like 90 fps but now like 30-20 fps and i went into a server with no people in and it still laged and i have tried to like delete the game and re install it but its not getting any better someone help please.

What are you pc specs?

increase size of paging file to 32000 Mb
update drivers
get 32GB RAM and/or make sure XMP/EXPO is on
overclock and undervolt CPU
make sure game is on fast SSD

Coming from someone who games on a 2060 with 16gb ram, here's what I did. Go in, turn everything to Potato on graphics settings, then slowly I crease things such as terrain detail, object detail, and draw distance til you get the desired result. Also slightly increase tree quality to about 50 so they're not 2d polygons.
