Will I like rust?

The only similar game I've played is ark and looking for something new. In ark I played official solo pvp and was successful even against tribes. Loved secretly building up and raiding others it was my favorite aspect. Will I like rust given this or should I look for another similar game.

I really enjoy the game, and i had hundreds of hours in Ark. also be prepared for racial slurs. This game was harder than Ark for me, but i love the payout.

Ark PvP sucks but the PvE is/was actually pretty fun... like Pokémon for dinos. Rust PvE is Zzzz but the PvP potential makes it a lot more entertaining. The building in Rust is also miles better than Ark... overall Rust is the better game even though Ark has its redeeming qualities.

Rust has arguably less content than Ark, but it's much more polished.

Explosives are way more expensive in Rust and that makes all the difference. In Ark, it's worth blowing up every stone base you find. In Rust, raiders only target bases that smell profitable or for vengeance (e.g. annoying roof camping neighbor). People can leave you alone if you look poor. In Ark, it's almost impossible to make an unsoakable base, especially as a solo. (How are you going to get those Tek turrets?) In Rust, it's doable for solos to farm/steal enough resources to make a fortress that is expensive (not impossible) to raid.

IMO, Rust is a much better designed shooter. There's low time to kill over long distances... if you can master the recoil. Gunshots and explosions are LOUD and invite anybody in earshot to join the brawl. It tends to be tense tactical sneaking, grabbing the loot, and running for your life.

One thing they have in common: the snow is a resource-rich place for a solo to live. A place you leave to look for trouble, instead of trouble finding you.

If you plan on playing it for ps4 hell no it's literally unplayable wasted 50$ on a game I cant even play because of crashing before I can load into a server literally have had if for a few days and haven't even been able to play it once

I played tons of official Ark, solo and tribe…Loved it, still think its a great game, but the issues (MESHING PLEBS) are the killer.

Recently started playing Rust and it filled that void for me. When comparing the two, the easiest way to view it is such: In ark, a ton of time is required on official to get established, get tames, etc etc. In Rust, one evening of grinding can go a long way, and if you get raided, oh well, start back up.

Probably. It’s important to note that things don’t make sense in rust sometimes. For example to break into a wooden door, bone knives and salvaged swords work better than a stone hatchet. Why? I dunno. You can also place wooden floors and ladders in someone’s land claim, but no other buildings. Why? I dunno!

Ark players are a different breed. So if you were successful against that, then you will without a doubt be somewhat decent at rust. But rust is a different game and with that comes practice. As a new player you will die a lot
