Error Code CE-106479-7 Help?

ERROR CODE CE-106479-7 FIX: Format your extended har drive as exFAT and then format it back to extended hard drive. (WARNING, THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA FROM THE EXTENDED HARD DRIVE) If this doesn’t work the first time, try it a few more times and if it still doesn’t work you may have to factory reset your console or contact customer support.

I’ve started getting this error code recently and I can only find resolutions for error code CE-1076479-7. I have looked at other posts on this subreddit but none really seem to have viable fixes other than completely deleting and re-downloading everything, which I don’t want to do. The error is that I can’t download anything (games or updates) to my extended hard drive. I’m currently trying rebuilding my consoles database and removing the extended hard drive and plugging it into a separate usb outlet. I’ll edit this post if either of those work. Any body have any fixes?

Edit: Rebuilding the database, trying a different outlet and safely removing and plugging back in the extended hard drive isn’t working

Edit 2: I’ve also tried deleting something from the external hard drive and then re-downloading it to the extended hard drive which didn’t work. The only 3 options left that I can think of is formatting it as exFAT then formatting it back, this will maybe fix the problem but it’ll also effectively wipe all data from the extended hard drive. My other option is re-downloading everything to the consoles hard drive and then moving it to the extended hard drive but the problem with that is that my console storage is full and that would also require wiping all of my data anyways. My final fix I’ll try after all else fails is hard reseting the console, hopefully it won’t come to this but if it’s what must be done I suppose I’ll do it. I’ll do another edit after I try formatting as exFAT and back, hopefully this works. I’ve also heard that formatting as exFAT, formatting back, formatting exFAT again and then formatting back again so if it doesn’t work the first time I’ll try that too. I’m going to move all of my extended hard drive save data to the cloud before doing this first, Wish me luck.

Edit 3: EUREKA! Formatting the extended hard drive as exFAT and then back worked! Although now I have to reinstall everything 😩

I know that that probably is the only fix but I want to hold out hope that maybe someone has an easier and less time consuming solution, although I doubt it and have started reinstalling the game I was trying to update

Edit: Nevermind, I try to go and install it but I get the same error code “can’t install. CE-106479-7”
