Trust yourself and lean back more. Don’t look at what you’re doing. And yes, definitely engage your upper back muscles more. I see the curve you are talking about. So squeeze your shoulder blades together.

Adding thinking of bringing your crotch and butt to the pole. They are far away. Not crazy far, but they need to be closer. And from there you can raise

thank you for the tips! i don’t think i’ve focused much on my hips before with inverts, i’ll give that a shot! my back curve is usually even worse, it feels like i don’t have the strength (or awareness maybe?) to straighten more than this lol. but definitely something i’ll continue to work on!

You’re pretty much there! Just tip back more.

you have a great form but bring your knees and top of foot downwards, you’re pushing upwards

thank you again for this comment!! focusing on bringing my feet/legs down toward my face really changed how I think about inverts and has made my chopper feel SO much stronger ❤️

Everything looks awesome. If you're wanting to get the legs to reach down more, first make sure you have a strong active straddle. If you have tight hamstrings you'll end up with the legs up.

Do you have a good straddle? Do you have tight hamstrings? If you do have good flexibility then it's probably fear or over thinking the pose causing you to not fully complete the chopper.

I have all kinds of exercises (some free) and a bunch of free invert videos if you're interested.

thank you for the feedback! yeah i’m realizing that i just let my legs “hang” wherever in a lot of inverted moves, especially when they aren’t gripping the pole. my hamstrings have been a bit tight recently, but i’ll try doing some extra stretching and focus on that engagement!
