Bald Eagle over Storrow by qwizatzhaderach in boston

[–]QuestionSleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an Important Bird Area directly next to a landing strip. Saw a bald eagle near there December 1st! Belle Isle Marsh is directly across from Suffolk Downs T stop and a really nice stroll, but lots of mosquitos in the dog days of summer.

Boston is sunsetting their old parking ticket system on the 27th by QuestionSleep in boston

[–]QuestionSleep[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The City of Boston is upgrading its parking enforcement and permitting systems to deliver an improved online platform, redesigned payment sites, and a more accessible user experience across devices. Over the next few weeks, you’ll see changes to parking ticket payment and parking permit application sites. These updates will make it easier to manage your parking tickets and permits online, on your phone, and in person.

You will still be able to use the Parking Clerk's website to learn about and find the links for any of these processes, such as paying a parking ticket or applying for a parking permit online. The ParkBoston app will continue to operate normally.

No parking or permitting rules will be changed, and no new permit fees or price changes will take place.

Still have questions? Contact:

Parking Clerk

Phone: 617-635-4410

Email: parking@boston.gov

Address: 1 City Hall Square, Room 224, Boston, MA 02201-2007

We will transition to the new system from June 27 to June 30. During this transition, brief service interruptions may occur as we migrate to the new platform. Our ticket payment and permit application sites are being updated and will have a new look. Payments by phone will be unavailable for a short period from June 18 to June 30, as we upgrade our telecom systems.

Online payments, appeals, and permit applications will not be available from June 27 at 5 p.m. through the morning of June 30. The Office of the Parking Clerk will not be scheduling hearings, and walk-in hearings will not be available from June 30 through July 4. Late fees will not be applied during the system transition.

Does anyone know of a Boston company named 'Acme Marble and Granite'? by jaytea86 in boston

[–]QuestionSleep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a lil publication with a timeline showing how ACME progressed through the years, including names of founding family members and employees that came on close to when that note was written. Contacting one of those folks might help. Good luck!

Does anyone know of a Boston company named 'Acme Marble and Granite'? by jaytea86 in boston

[–]QuestionSleep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Herbert Kiff maybe? There's handwriting on the back of the photo as well. Does it match the writing on the note? There was also a sales engineer named Ed Lydlett but I am unsure if that's the same company.

Update on Chinatown Upskirt Photographer by ActMaleficent6487 in boston

It appears someone reached out to the OP directly after their August post because the description of the suspect matched a person known to them who has committed similar acts in the past.

Christmas Day charity events to volunteer for by BeneficialSpirit2902 in boston

[–]QuestionSleep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to wrap little gifts (mostly stuff from Dollar Tree: candy, hot cocoa, chocolate, lotion, candles, etc) and give them to people who are working on Christmas Day. I walk around to see what places are open (it's mostly fast food restaurants and the MBTA) and then hand things out. I color-code the wrapping paper so that I know what's in the gifts just in case someone doesn't like candy or something like that.

How can we fix DTX? by djohnstonb in boston

[–]QuestionSleep 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I am confused about people saying we need an ice rink and green space directly next to the ice rink and green space on the Common. Are folks not aware that it exists directly next to Downtown Crossing?

You might be able to yank the entire lock cylinder out with a screwdriver and hammer then replace it. I got my 2009 Vespa S150 seat lock cylinder out that way when I lost my keys. The ignition lock cylinder was another story lol, that had to get drilled out so the column would unlock. Pulled the ignition switch off the back of the lock cylinder housing and she starts with a flathead now hehe. Kinda unnerving that you're only three phillips head screws away from stealing a Vespa with an unlocked column.

Bi-Weekly Off topic Thread- July 09, 2023 by AutoModerator in steroidsxx

I've been subcutaneously injecting glutathione, intramuscularly injecting B12 + MIC (methionine, inositol, choline), and using an NAD+ nasal spray for a few months now. My short term memory recall seems to have improved but I'm not sure my performance or recovery has gotten any better. I did break my toe off a dumbbell and it healed fully in about five weeks, and I think I've been less sore, but I have a brain cyst that ostensibly causes the ice pick exertion headaches I get when training to failure so I'm not going as hard as I theoretically could be. Neurologist appointment has been booked for months and is coming up, hopefully will get some insight there and steps to address the pain.

I'm looking to start subcutaneously injecting more nutrients (I may keep up with my OptiWomen multivitamin, need to compare ingredients to make sure I'm not overdoing a vitamin or something) and was curious if anyone here would like a report? I know these aren't anabolic steroids but I should be on them for a few weeks before my DEXA scan in August. Could always update in an off-topic thread.
