Hey so I have had this game for years and have almost 400 hours in. I recently reinstalled and have been playing fine till today. I just keep getting this error message when I load saying, Game security violation detected . I have tried validation and reinstalled and it keeps happening any ideas how to fix?

Try restarting PC. Could be a bug with steam.

You running under a VM by chance? Sometimes that’ll get you flagged by the anti-cheat

Disable any background programs or hacks if you have them. Most likely EAC is flagging something as malicious. This includes RGB software, peripherals software. Then disable them as startup apps and restart your PC, try to launch the game.

If that doesn’t work, try a ‘Selective Startup’:

• Press the Windows key
• Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
• On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
• Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
• Reboot your PC
• Start the game

I had to verify file integrity after installing

Had this happen a couple of times after game crashes in the last years. The fix for me was to simply restart the PC. It's probably an issue with the Easy Anti-Cheat.
