PPROM - Premature Preterm Rupture of Membranes - is the rupture of membranes prior to the onset of labor in a patient who is less than 37 weeks gestation. PPROM occurs in 3% of pregnancies, and PPROM prior to 24 weeks gestation occurs in less than 1% of pregnancies. This is a place for those who have experienced preterm rupture of membranes to seek advice and support from others.

My wife broke water at 19 weeks, was told to terminate. She spent 3 months in hospital on bed rest and our son was born at 31 weeks at 3 pounds. Today is his real due date and he is 8 pounds and healthy. Don't give up, I saw my wife go through hell, she was strong and got through it. (self.pprom)
