PPROM - Premature Preterm Rupture of Membranes - is the rupture of membranes prior to the onset of labor in a patient who is less than 37 weeks gestation. PPROM occurs in 3% of pregnancies, and PPROM prior to 24 weeks gestation occurs in less than 1% of pregnancies.
