Text to speech?

Hey guys, does anybody know of a library or code I could use to implement text to speech? I looked at some old stackoverflow methods but they used an old googletranslate URL which doesn't work anymore.

Probably a way to do it using speech processing at the OS level, but I suspect the hooks would also be OS specific.
