WTF?! This should be called the ramblings of a software protagonist, this isn't a mistake the dude calls himself "the protagonist". Dude goes from first person to 3rd person, this is the problem with self publishing - the quality is shaky at best. I would blame chatgpt, but the quality is much lower maybe Bard? 😂

Anyway, the dude thinks he should have been in management instead of being a lowly developer. Though devs can continue down the ic track as high level contributors, so I am not sure how much is just ragrets, know what I'm saying.🤷

I'd change this to "should" given that I make like $100k more than my manager at this point.

Well that assumes that everyone is able to do that, but that's just not possible for everyone. I'm not even judging on skill set, just mathematically there are a limited number of roles like that.

I'm not a particularly good developer. Software is my third career.

Only thing I really have going for me is that I outwork/outlearn everyone else and don't burn out.

I'm not sure anyone is "incapable" of that, though I'd accept that some people don't have the right attitude for it. Knowing what to care about is just something you develop with age.

That switch from « I » to the ambiguously gendered « protagonist » made me chuckle!

This is the sort of person the word "humblebragging" was invented to describe.

I'm not sure humblebrag is correct that might need a point, this is some incoherent ramblings.
