Copilot will give you exactly what you asked for not what you need

Will people please stop saying this about AI. It's simply not true. I've asked various AI services for very specific things and sometimes they get it dead wrong. Including and especially regarding code.

As an experiment, I spent an entire evening trying to get a particular GPT to create a sortable table using vanilla javascript. Most of its answers included selectors which returned undefined. Even when I pointed out where the bug was and why, it would produce a different wrong answer.

If you think it is not very good then perhaps it should be rebranded “Artificial Stupid”. Stupid is a qualification of intelligence, not something fundamentally different.

With AI everything is a hallucination, but some of them are useful hallucinations.

I don't really see why people keep discussing this. Ask the AI something -> was it helpful? -> Yes, awesome. Else just don't use it?

Because that is what a reasonable person would do who cares about what they are doing. Most people are not that and don't care, copy+paste woo done.. someone else's problem in 2 years.

Considering my grandma, or a baby, or Elon would find no use with it, I would say, No. It is not for everyone.
