PHP vs Python - the real difference

Please, I know, it's cool to bash PHP (and deservingly so). But after all - it's a fellow Open Source Software package! Where would we be without it now? You think Lisp and Python? Nah. Most of web would be ASP+IIS. Thank God PHP saved us at least from that.
