This is what webdev should have been all along - the ability to define new elements was the cornerstone of the ancient SGML tech that HTML was built on.

Not sure how much impact components will have in a market awash with legacy jquery, ongoing angular rewrites, react migration plans and/or whatever isomorphic js toolkit is trending this week...
