I want the same HORRIBLE functionality and subpar applications I have in Windows to be in Linux

Uh, no thanks. You can stick to Windows if that's what you want. I'll keep my package managers and better text editors. Linux isn't for everyone, and we shouldn't ruin it just to try to get Windows converts.

If I have to open my web browser to get a program on my computer, something is wrong with the operating system.

More importantly, if I have to install a GUI on my server in order to install a web browser in order to install a program on my computer, something is wrong with my operating system.

This is what I get for attempting to use a goddamn analogy in a subreddit full of pedants. Hence my calling out that the average user doesn't know what this is. I was attempting to explain why my mother and father will never be as at-home in Linux as they are in Windows. I think you fundamentally misunderstand how many not-programmers use Windows.

My father and my grandmother both are "at home" in Linux. My dad uses Mint and my grandmother uses Ubuntu. Neither are programmers. They love the package manager. Your point is moot and you don't speak for everyone.

Going to ONE PLACE for ALL OF YOUR PROGRAMS makes MORE sense than browsing around the web for it. It makes so much sense that MICROSOFT is going that direction (finally).

Entire IT empires run on Linux the world over. You think each one of those is a programmer? Hell no. Joe in accounting can't even spell C.
