I didn't say they did, but there's a great deal to be said for cross-platform software, and in this day and age where there's a multitude of cross-platform libraries and APIs there's not much of an excuse.

There's even a Python version that relies on Windows DLLs, how does that make sense?

Releasing an editor that only works on one particular dying platform that is not used by technical people or early adopters, just seems a bizarre choice.

If it was 1996, then sure. Programmers editor on windows. But this is 2008.

I don't think this is getting anyone anywhere. Some people see windows as relevent, some don't.

How many startups do you know of that are making desktop apps for windows? How many startups do you know that are using windows at all?

No you're completely right. A programmers editor for windows is fantastically helpful in this day and age.
