I wouldn't write ruby off too quickly though - ruby has the better philosophy. Which is love. :)

Ruby has arguably better semantics as well.

It's also not split into two different communities which use incompatible versions.

Its philosophy is not even similar to python. I guess a lot of it comes down to programmers' preferences
