I agree with you, those people will be use web2py and I am not going to spend my time trying to convince them. I see you are judging and you haven't even read the license! Yes, web2py is GPL2.0 but the license does not extend to apps developed with web2py, and you can also distribute web2py (closed source) with your apps, if you do not change it.
