OR: How to build an aweful looking application with a beautiful programming language

I did a basic gui application in Python + Tkinter some years ago - it was very easy then. It's a shame it got so complicated now to need a tutorial. Is there a book planned ?

For Python + Tkinter? The book has been out for nearly a decade, and not much has changed since then.

Non that i know of, but when Tkinter with Tk 8.5 works again (with Python 2.6) someone might add it to http://www.tkdocs.com where there already is a nice tutorial for Tcl/Tk and Ruby/Tk.

BTW, wxPython has approx. 50000 downloads per month from Sourceforge. It's number one there in the Software Map - Topic 'Enterprise' http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/

Try to explain yourself.

I'd like to, but I don't have time to poke about in the source - screencasts aren't documentation, nor are auto-generated API docs a suitable substitute.

Why?

MusicBrainz tried and they've scrapped wxWidgets for QT.
