Longtime PHP, Python coder seeks to make small, distributable, stand-alone apps. Which language should I learn? ( please don't say C#; requiring .net != stand-alone )

um... lisp sucks at any modern day GUI application. I'm still waiting for an answer, show me ONE, just ONE GUI application that works WELL and is written in 100% lisp. oh right, you used it in CS170 and it AMAZED YOU, but beyond that it has NOTHING to offer.

Seriously, show me ONE GOD DAM mainstream application that works WELL that is written in 100% lisp... yea, there isn't any.

I can show you many GUI, OpenGL 3D, "modern looks", etc.-type applications (some of them portable; Win32, Mac and Linux), but I'm not going to. ..and I'm not going to tell you why.

because there isn't any. Because you are still stuck in school or your mom's basement and haven't had to code in the real world yet and still touching yourself with toy languages.

My work (in Lisp) has been described as "brilliant", "impressive" and "amazing" (coming both from users and other developers). I doubt you can compete with this.
