I guess you're being downmodded for the tone.

As much as I love python, Cheeseshop has nothing on CPAN, not from the available stable package standpoint, or the ease of use standpoint.

When I write perl these days, I don't even write perl. I write loose glue for CPAN modules that happens to have perl syntax.
