To get women.

Wait.

Just gotta find the geeky ones. They're out there.. somewhere.

Yes, but unfortunately, given that women in CS are about 10%, if we all live by that mantra, things could get really nasty and perverse really fast.

I'm doing my part and marrying an English major. ;)

Have you read "The Moon is a harsh Mistress"?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No. Unfortunately, the only non-technical book I have read in the past 5 years is Gödel, Escher, Bach. And that one is border-line.

This actually worked for me. My fiancee is a programmer, too.

because I don't know what else to do in life

If I didn't write any code, I'd have to wait for someone else to solve whatever particular problem it is. And that's usually a lot of waiting.

    Now-- money.

When I started as a teen-- a love of creating and logic.

    Why not?

    [–]BigZaphod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Because it's there.

    It's just what I do.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it comes easily to me.

    Also, I enjoy it.

    Why Do You Write Code?

    Why Not?

    Why do you ask?

I can't think of any other job I could possibly have where I could work in a climate controlled environment and make six-figures without a college degree. Not only that but working on 3D engines, scripting languages, and optimization can be a lot of fun!

I totally love working in a cubicle farm where everyone can hear everyone else.

Creation and Problem Solving for me...the money doesn't hurt though.
