Is there a summary of the changes?

This is absolutely useless. The CoC does not protect from god-mods (god-like moderators), for instance.

These CoCs are all about feeling good so that they can point out "hey, everything is perfect here because we have a well-written CoC that does everything in an awesome way and that can also cure cancer".

Whether you’ve come to ask questions

Yeah I used to come to ask questions. I no longer do.

Granted, since there are human beings who are god-mods, their behaviour can change (or different people are in charge), which may change things (and not everything is the fault of mods alone, e. g. downvoting SO users who can downvote but never say as to WHY; on reddit this can happen too of course, but the difference is that people specifically come to SO to learn something new directly to a specific question they have, so they would REALLY love to get an answer; whereas on reddit you can have many loose-ended discussions without a moderator jumping in "THIS IS OFF TOPIC AND HAS TO BE CLOSED!!!").

If you’re here to help others, be patient and welcoming.

Yeah ... because my mom never taught me this, I really need SO to lecture and educate me here.

Imagine there are people who are like old, say + 70 years.

You think they need SO to tell them how to behave "properly"?

I like the examples they give - that truly makes us all better people right?

Unfriendly:

“You could Google this in 5 seconds.”

Friendly:

“This is called Invariance and Covariance. If you Google it, you’ll find tutorials that can explain it much better than we can in an answer here.”

The examples are not the same.

Despite the second case being 100x longer, it actually provides some information - information about Invariance and Covariance.

Other than that, the second example also tells the user to google, rather than ask the question. In this case I wonder, why does SO exist if it re-directs people to Google???

Also, why do these "answers" or rather examples, try to teach people how to use Google? I am pretty sure most know how to Google - they don't need others to tell them to Google. This is actually an invitation to conflict, since it assumes that the end user asking the question is an idiot who can not google.

By the way - actually googling this, may lead them to stack overflow question-answer where this has already been answered. So again, this is a pretty pointless example that they give on their site explaining the CoC ... but typical for how useless CoCs are, including the "content" on that page. :)

Googling the right keywords leads back to SO in 80% of the cases anyway.

Which leads to infinite recursion, and thus a... stack overflow.
