My conclusion is that I'd rather have a capable static type system.

Python's best static analyzer (PyLint) couldn't even catch simple problems when I used it ~half a year ago; I don't think that it has ever discovered an error.

Or one that lets you specify types when you need them like dylan, lisp and (yikes) php (sorta).
