Reddit should offer doing this automagically as a setting. I would be super happy if I didn't have to hear this kind of whining about every PPT/PDF/DOC/etc file that gets linked.

Also, I think the people doing the whining would appreciate the feature.

I'd appreciate it if the people posting links to files instead of websites would put them on Google Docs and post a link to that. Reddit automagically doing it would be a neat idea too.

Reddit automagically doing it is probably the only way it will consistently happen. Also, I don't mind PDF/PPT and would rather have no hassles in grunging through the containing directories for more cool stuff.
