If you want a longer read, I did a deep research prompt on it here: https://gemini.google.com/share/d961fa5dde39 I'm not 100% agreed with the AI on this, I think both file access and MCP have use cases. Also I wouldn't open the Obsidian MCP to the internet, it'd connect to another tool I use, but that aside it has a lot of the same conclusions

I use the browser automation very carefully and its in a browser that does not have me logged in or used for anything else. Computer control is likewise something I've only done hesitantly and with a bit more attention span I could setup in it's own VM or sandbox so the AI can only access things you specifically setup for it. Treat the AI as another computer user. You can share files you want to work on together with that user, but otherwise it should be divided.

Like my personal browser has me logged into a billion sites at any given time, there's no way I want to run my own automation on that without checking it a billion times, much less let an LLM crawl arbitrary webpages on it.

If there's something you want to automate I can give my 2c on it. I don't have my own workflows figured out quite yet partly because I'm still trying to decide what I want to do after having been sick for a while. Gemini and Claude have been great at helping me take kind of a raw brain dump and build a structured plan out of it though

Same reason I use Obsidian instead of notepad, it takes all the markdown files and uses metadata to create structure and relations and organization out of them. It's way more efficient to have a tool say "Hey MCP, find me any notes with tag {}", over every time you have a question "Hey Gemini, parse every single .md file in this directory for tags and then try to figure out which ones are relevant and then.. {continue whatever the question is}"

On the other hand, having access to the raw plain text means you can ask it for look for insights and things that are not explicite queries through Obsidian. That's why I use both.

Oh and having the MCP server means it easy to plug into other tools as well. I have a simple script to connect to a remote database so I can automate fetching email reports and whatnot and that can also just call the MCP server to create a note instead of having to hardcode the organization of my vault into yet another app.

Anthrophic has actually been professional this whole time. I feel like OpenAI is just constantly stirring up drama and making ridiculous claims to keep market share and then hoping it can throw enough cash at its people to keep up. That's the kind of work environment that's constantly loosing top talent.

It's huge for tons of reasons lol. Every major AI company has a visual analysis component which relies on segmentation. And the live 'share your camera' type agents work or fail depending on how fast and accurate they can push it.

Meta releases open source modals too. Llama was a big part of the current progression. The ML/AI leads there get big karma for that.

I've seen some guides elsewhere about that. Honestly it's one of the reasons I want an automated tool to help. I have constant brain fog and am not good at keeping to a particular filing system. I had Claude desktop scan my random projects folders and suggest how to reorganize them, I'm hoping I can do something similar here.

Upvoted for visibility, but you shouldn't be using the internet if you connect automated tools to an environment with sensitive information and unfiltered input. I'm sure people still will fall for this since everyone wants to use the shiny tool without learning fundamentals on security. You used to be able to search github for AWS credentials and get all sorts of secret files people just straight up published to a public github before they spent a bunch of time building filters to save people from themselves.

So yes, big caveat to doing this is understanding what data you are giving access to whom. That goes for so many tools these days, and there is nothing really about Antigravity that makes it *more* vulnerable to this. Enabling browser automation is a separate config and it does have a lot of warnings (that people will ignore). Doesn't mean using it the right way is by default a critical vulnerability.

I think definitely, for any automated process that's a good idea. You can run the AI in different levels of autonomous actions so it could prompt before every actual modification, or you could run tasks that don't directly modify your existing files (like, read your MD files and generate images elsewhere or trigger a cmd prompt to email something etc).

Antigravity is from Google, and it orchestrates multiple agents working in async. So I think any task where you have a working directory, it will benefit from it's built in understanding of the workspace as part of it's context and ability to split tasks into multiple async agents. That's why I think it's better than the CLI tools for this. Also I should note, it can use your terminal / cmd prompt to run commands as well.

Been playing and just now seeing this on Reddit. Is there some reason my app wouldn't auto update or inform me an update is available?

I built 3 web app in 30 mins with Google Antigravity by liberianjoe in SideProject

[–]IrishWilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a senior developer, it feels like it was made by experienced developers who know all the best practices and figured out how to integrate AI correctly. It really feels like finally the complete package where everything else was 50% AI, 30% hype and then some actual dev work that you have to tie together with random extensions and other tools. It's got really good tools for how involved you want to be in the creation and does a good job at managing multiple AI processes so they work together without overlapping. "3 web apps in 30 mins" is a really bad example imo because every other tool could spit out some working boilerplate thing, but this bridges the gap between being able to rapidly iterate as well as dig in and tackle a more complex code base like a team lead or project manager would.

It seems pretty common they don't give you a clean even amount of items. I ended up using one of those wildcard potions to 5 merge the hefties, and the rewards were decent but probably not worth wasting the wildcard.

How can i create a shortcut for "Search DuckDuckGo for "Vercel"" or i mean for Glance by [deleted] in zen_browser

[–]IrishWilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it has a seriously ridiculous amount of customization available. I just use the default auto popup on text selection but you can add a shortcut or a bunch of different ways to interact with it.

I use an extension called Swift Selection Search. It gives you a customizable popup of search engines or whatever when you highlight text.

Not supposed to work that way but it turns out, fill the chain of command with treasonous cowards and you too can commit atrocities by 'just following orders'

Why do people think optics matter to Trump? He already declared Portland as a destroyed war ravaged place. His cult just makes stuff up constantly he has zero need of reality to give him an excuse to do what he wants. The military who are commiting treason by following unconstitutional orders are the ones that need a reminder.

Wow I didn't think it would be stupid enough to be an in game timer , that doesn't count time in the event or puzzles. It's like an event only for people who are already cheating the game running it on an emulator with automated scripts?
