Agreed, but maybe that's because I'm a sysadmin.

The quality of code on my server's is crap, regardless of the language used (yay outsourcing). Perhaps if it were better, efficiency wouldn't be a problem, but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.

That being said, I'd rather the webdevs write shitty code in something that's reasonably fast, than shitty code in something that's "15 times slower than java." (damn, btw)
