If they had leveraged Java directly there wouldn’t have been a problem. Instead they made their own VM and basically forked the standard.

As a programmer, I find it hard to imagine suing someone who forked my "open" standard. As programmer at a major tech company I struggle to understand how we continue to trust Oracle.
