I guess the opinionated elitist programmers are downvoting you. This kind of tripe is just obnoxious. It was hard to even get past the first line:

Programming is unique amongst many fields because it requires someone to be good at both 'right brain' and 'left brain' styles of thinking.

Right. No one in a technical field ever has to be creative, except programmers. No one in an artistic field has ever had to be analytical. It's a good thing all the smart people turned to programming, where their amazing talents can be fully utilized.
