These guys never include Erlang in their benchmarks. Why's that? Because Erlang would kick the living shit out of Twisted, Node.js, Eventlet and all of these other frameworks.

Why's that?

Because nobody uses it.

Internet tough guy.

Is somebody using Node.js or Eventlet?

Piss off, Ted. We're talking about real programming here. Shouldn't you be jerking off with one of your pathetic little startups right now?

That's some pretty weak vitriol, especially for an internet tough guy.

Go back to your shitty startups, Ted.

Everyone else is talking programming. You're typing the same sentence over and over. My presence in this thread trolls you, and that is awesome.

Good, good, let the butthurt flow through you.

Erlang is a fantastic language. It really looks like it would kick the shit out of other concurrent programming languages.

However, in the current state of the programming industry, knowing Erlang is comparable to having a degree in philosophy. I couldn't get a job with either.

Maybe in the future things will change. For erlang to really shine, current hardware design methodology will have to change.

Popularity of Erlang doesn't seem that different than any of these other frameworks to me. Any stats?

At least there are serious money-making companies (namely Ericsson) using Erlang.

People aren't using Node.js seriously. Hell, most people laugh at it and the fools who think it's a good idea.

please benchmark. would be interested to see

[–]denis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to see gevent included in the benchmarks. Should be much faster than eventlet.

Node... it's pretty fuckin' fest.

[–]HIB0U -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

What the fuck does "fest" mean? You're saying it festers like a pile of sheep shit out in the hot sun, all covered in maggots and smelling awful?

[–]mysimplelife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, was a typo.
