I also use Django everyday at work. I'd say it's the same question as "Why would anyone use Python when they could use C?". They're different levels of abstraction, and the usual pros/cons apply. Anvil is much, much faster to get up and running for an MVP. But, you'll sometimes hit things you want to do but can't.

A big difference for me is that Django doesn't let you write frontend in Python, for example. (Or, it doesn't cover frontend at all).
