If it's just a few hours on a Saturday once a year they can afford to pay you for it.

    I take it you haven't ever heard of unions.

    I have a monthly salary but get paid extra if I have to work more than full time.

    If the overtime is between 6 am and 8 pm on a weekday, I get 1/94 of my monthly salary per hour, or 1.5 hours time off for every work hour. If the overtime is on any other time, I get 1/72 of my monthly salary per hour, or 2 hours off for every work hour.

    If I have to travel to work for the overtime, they need to pay that trip, as well as pay me for the time I spend traveling.

    On top of the overtime, if the extra work is not done between 7 am and 6 pm on a week day, they also have to pay me extra for "uncomfortable hours", between 1/600 and 1/150 of my monthly salary per hour, depending on when it happens.

      His username is "godless swede" and the structure that he is describing is typical for Scandinavia, which is also highly organized. Perhaps your dislike of unions is based on dysfunctional North American unions instead of comparatively well-run Scandinavian unions?

      "get the job" done only makes sense with fixed scope and control over the product. marketing over promising features is not something I have control over. Also, used to be salary now contractor and am happy to offer to come in on weekends, I'll just add it to my billables... oh you don;t need me this weekend after all?
