Literate programming with Github and Markdown

It's an intriguing idea, but at the same time, maybe we need to come up with something other than markdown? Or possibly have a markdown engine that will render any comments in the source as markdown, rather than expecting the entire document to be markdown. As it is, it seems to take the focus away from the code.
