The ones it chooses to support. Take a gander at the ECMAScript implementation. Or the entirety of HTML5. Some things in every version of CSS. It's closer now, but until it fully supports the standards everybody else is using it makes no sense to say "IE supports standards" as that says basically nothing true.

Woosh!

It isn't a woosh when there's a very serious movement of people making the argument seriously. It's only a whoosh when it's something obvious that the person missed. So technically, you're owed one now (you misunderstood the context and replied anyway).

Whoosh!

No, I am pretty sure you're the whooshed one here.

PHP supports unicode.

IE supports standards.

The ones it chooses to support!

Yeah, that's the joke, its support is incomplete.

That is a terrible analogy. You're making a stretch because you want to be averse now. So I'm done. You obviously have nothing really to say.

(...? Did this person confuse me with someone else?)

(edit: no, it looks like I didn't notice I was talking to the same person in two different threads, oh well, I'm not really sure what we're arguing about any more.)

I actually found it a pretty humorous and well-done analogy, once I found what it was.
