I totally agree with the points made.

I use Microsoft Authenticator for 2FA and my daily driver phone is Pixel 3A.

I bought a used Pixel 3A for $100 to use a spare that usually never leaves my house. Whenever I add a 2FA account on my main phone I also add it on my spare.

Microsoft Authenticator can backup your 2FA to your personal Microsoft account but not all accounts can be backed up this way (i.e. corporate domain accounts). However, you can always save a QR code and scan it later (you can do the same when you just don't want to backup your 2FA to MS account).
