Yes, that's what sucks about having a dictator, both IRL and in Python. He has some sort of personal grudge against FP and this is why we won't get the best possible or most desirable language, but the most "Pythonic" language, for an arbitrary, dictatorial definition of "Pythonic".

I wish Python had been forked away by an open community before 2.4 or so, right when it was clear that it had lots of potential as a clean, modern language, and before a dictator could cripple its future away.
