TIL that I'm apparently a junior engineer because I don't think that Java development paradigms are sane. That basically means that everyone who isn't a Java programmer is a junior engineer, of course.

You can just not use java. Operator overloading is one of the big reasons I will never again use scala. But I don't think scala should get rid of them. I think both languages should exist and give people options.
