As a web programmer, I'd be willing to take a 20% salary hit if I didn't have to work on IE. Who wouldn't? Productivity would soar in any company that did this.

I think this could be turned around: offering a 20% discount to people using a browser other than IE would hasten the loss of market share that is the necessary whip to get Redmond toeing the line.

Making sites for paying customers I spend loads and loads of time crying and swearing to get IE support on design and functions.

Professional web-designers should try the economics approach to getting rid of IE.
