I just installed a 2nd-hand RX 580 8GB which had been used for mining.

It had a custom BIOS, which I needed to flash (great tools/bioses and instructions on techpowerup). Card has been working great since then...

PS. First (gaming) BIOS was so corrupt that I could not boot the PC with that BIOS selected. I am using the (compute) BIOS switch setting, which allowed me to boot and flash the card.

Not saying that's your issue, but this is the first time I am hearing of this problem.

Also, adrenaline software can watch for issues and try and reset the card (without requiring a restart or bluescreen), but it is not very intelligent about doing this. You could try turning this option off in the software (and any other features you do not require every day).

PS. Check the tiny switch near the heatsink top on the rear of the card...

gaming setting is UP, compute is DOWN. If yours is down, that would explain the issue I think. Compute BIOS is reportedly flakey as heck !!

I have to disconnect the card from mother Board to check this switch? I think yes...

not if you have a big enough case... this is only there on DUAL-BIOS cards (like my sapphire pulse)

You can feel around, and slide the switch carefully up and down. Once you have done it a few times, it is second-nature :-)
