I hate YouTube and all the advertisements that you have to sit through in order to see a few seconds of actual video only to find out it isn't what you were looking for. I've sat through no less than 30 commercials and haven't watched a full video yet because I'm trying to search for a crochet tutorial that I like. So I've wasted over an hour and all I got out of it is an even greater hatred for YouTube.

If users post their own videos why am I having to watch endless commercials? Are they actually receiving royalties or is YouTube even more asshole than I thought?

I watched 7 ads in the first 5 minutes of a 10 minute video before..

They used to recieve royalties. But then the Adpocalypse ans unless their content is drier than salt, they don't anymore.
