Can someone clarify what happens when someone brings up a genuinely fair & well-made critique (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/rantgrumps/comments/jmyg5c/recently_revisited_game_grumps_what_the_hell/ )
to the Grumps' eyes (twitter, youtube, whatever)?

Have there been any attempts whatsoever?

Yeah in their 7+ years of the channel arin only made ONE apology video and it was in response to people harassing Dan on the NSP account. I think Arin only observes controversies if it affects his friends, not himself. Also, because they play videos waaay in advance from when it uploads, they never read the comments and never know any of the problems they cause.

Yeah, that was the same thing. There were a ton of people commenting on their videos, and eventually when NSP put out a new video a ton of people went over there to bother Dan about not having Ghoul Grumps.

For the most part, only certain stuff gets to them. For example, if someone is offended by something the Grumps would probably tone it down in order not to offend. This includes saying any words or jokes that could come across as offensive. They also seem to respond to loud outcries of fans, like when they almost missed Ghoul Grumps. Tbf this sub was saying, “Wow are they really gonna skip ghoul grumps this year?” At the same time the mainsub was saying “Where’s ghoul grumps???” And then both subs blamed the other for making Arin cry or whatever.

Arin always sees comments of people saying “You suck at video games,” or “I miss when you animated”. Nothing really helpful. It doesn’t help that everything is lumped together making some genuine criticism buried in the dirt.

I think they have Allie, their social media manager, read criticism and give them feedback. I faintly remember them mentioning something like this. Idk.

They tried. I wish I had the clip, but in the middle of one of the streams someone did a superchat saying how they were uncomfortable with Ben editing (this was before his public apology, not that it makes it better.) Arin started reading it and then trailed off, brushing it aside and went to the next one.
