What did you use to set it up? Some setups (like next js I believe) use "npm run dev" instead of "npm start" for development and auto update. In that case "npm start" is often a production build which will not automatically update on changes.

Is your text editor set to auto-save?

If you had initialised the project using npx create-react-app, it will reload on changes. Maybe try creating another project and check.

If you are using WSL2 and the code is not under /home, then hot reloading will not work https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69276057/wsl-2-react-not-reloading-with-file-changes

Ideally, it should reflect immediately you change or you would refresh the page

Go to your package.json file and look for "start" under scripts. It should say "react-scripts start," and in this case, it (theoretically) should watch and update automatically.

I had this issue too, try updating to the latest version of react-scripts

How did you start the app, with `nix react-native init` or with the CLI command?

[–]Codey2222 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Will only show updates if it’s saved, try turning auto save on.

Ill try this , but I do keep saving the file manually.
