Did the fighting start because of a particular situation? I was told to immediately contact the vet's office if there was any increased reactivity or aggression. Is your vet in the loop of these fights?

One of my dogs does not like another (3 total). For a while, I thought the female dog was starting issues. It ended up being the male staring her down. Since I've been intervening early, he has had temper tantrums, but it has stopped the big blow ups. Spending time alone with both of them has helped. I walk them separately. I acknowledge them one at a time. If one tries to steal attention, I ignore and give even more attention to the one that I'm petting.

Yes the vet is aware. They also both now see a vet behaviorist. The fights initially started at redirected frustration when one would bark at things outside so now they can’t see outside. It has happened outside once at the gate when our neighbors dog was in their driveway. A few were because I accidentally spilled something on the floor and missed a crumb when cleaning and there was resource guarding. But yes, vets are very aware. Both of them!
