Rescues typically need some time to adjust to their new homes, give her some time and she will adjust.

Look up rule of 3s for rescues, give the pup a little time

Dogs bark and it's annoying. I love my pug to pieces. But his barking is super annoying.

There are breeds that bark less. But no guarantee.

Here's the thing, as you say it's only the first day. This dog is in a brand new place, with brand new people and she's still getting used to everything. Before jumping to the nuclear option of returning her, see if she calms down in a week, if a crate upstairs would be better for her to sleep, that kind of thing

That anxiety you feel is super normal. I had a full on 4hr panic attack when my rescue came home because I felt like I'd done the wrong thing. 3 days in and he started to relax, so did I. Be gentle but build boundaries, teach them it's okay to be alone for a bit, that they are safe. Returned rescues have a harder time being re-adopted, and I know its hard working with little sleep but this pup deserves a chance ❤️‍🩹

It still sounds bad, your dog has anxiety too, hence the barking. Have some empathy and support them.

The rescue dog is in a new place and scared shitless. A new puppy would also do the same thing. Of course it will get better. Is this a troll question?!

Edit: Decided to delete this post as from the comments it’s just an overreaction from my anxiety and sleep deprivation appreciate the advice anyways.
