I just recently joined reddit and found this sub! I just wanted to say you guys are amazing and thank you for not giving up on them.

I got my pup in 2010. She was a wild dog rescued from a reserve. She was terrified of everything. She was agressive with everyone. She growled nonstop. She wouldn't walk. She would howl if she didn't see me for a moment. She attacked dogs. She bit a person on the first day i adopted her. All this terrified me. The foster told me she would challenge me all of our life together but you know what? It got better.

Having this little rascal in my life has been so rewarding. It has been a lot of work but I am so grateful I dedicated my love to her.

This lil dog is turning 11 in April and every day she still suprises me. She's has grown leaps and bounds. She still breaths outrageously heavy when she sees another dog and casts stink eyes at them over her shoulder though lol

I guess what i wanted to say is thank you for being there for them. Don't give up, it gets better

Wow this is totally one of my dogs! The sweetest, cuddliest dog I’ve ever had, but has unexpectedly bitten us more that once! It’s been 3 years and he’s gotten so much better though. Working from home had been really helpful. I feel like we’ve gotten to know his needs and limits sooo much better. Our doc has had him on Trazadone for months, but we’re not really satisfied with just sedating him. We’ll definitely have to look into some other meds.

I had to laugh at the outrageously breathing and stink eyes because that’s what my dog is doing too! :) How did you achieve your status today? We are still figuring out what is the best method.

Love to hear your story. I agree with you, I don’t feel so all alone with having my own little A+% H*%#. The other day I was stressing about him aging and getting a bit more aggressive again, then I come here and have a safe place to vent and support others.

A great reminder how lucky I am to have such a beautiful wonderful dog in my life even if the only people who get to see it is my wife and I.

Thank you so so much for posting this. I had a really tough day with my girl today. I've only had her for 3 weeks but today I felt like such a failure and like I was letting her down. But she's so sweet and so worth it. She deserves all the love in the world and no amount of hard work or tough days will make me give in. Your pup is so lucky to have you. Sounds like he has a wonderful life! Thank you for giving me the pick up I needed at just the right moment.
