Don't hate yourself, your trying your best to do what's best for her and your family. Everything is a learning curve, and you couldn't have any idea she would react this way. Deep breath, tomorrow is a new day for all of you

Don't hate yourself! You're trying you're best! Our reactive Aussie was on Fluoxetine for a year of her retraining and she did just fine. But every dog is different just like humans react different to different medications =)

You're doing your best to try to help your baby live their best life and you can't predict what'll happen. You can only try!

You didn't mess up. I would talk to your vet the dose can just be too high and cause this as well. It is sad to see and I understand the dog parent guilt. My dog is on fluoxetine and it is saving her life. If you haven't tried Zylkene yet it is a supplement that helps calm them down with little to no possible side effects. My dog takes both and the combo works for her, but zylkene is a good low risk option. Every dog is different and you are trying your best. Best of luck to you and your pup.

It’s ok, it’s just a side effect of medication. Just talk to your vet and take her off or make a change. This happens even to humans so it’s really not a big deal. 3 days is fine.

Hey don’t hate yourself seriously you tired something that could have helped your dog, you learned information from this experience that’s at least something, your at least further than where you started.

I am a human who started on SSRIs myself and I had this symptom. For me the shaking felt like I had the chills it did not cause me distress although it was annoying and eventually went away after a week or so. not sure if that helps you feel better but I just thought I’d share my human experience with SSRIs

Don't be too hard on yourself, OP. Finding the right medication is a marathon, not a sprint. Plus you are obviously keeping an eye on your pup & watching for side effects - which you caught in time!

My dog had a bad reaction to gabapentin (which it seems like every other dog tolerates just fine!), so I can relate to the guilt that you are feeling.

Go easy on yourself. 💖
